The nurse technician performs delegated tasks of direct and indirect patient care under the supervision of a registered nurse (RN). The designated tasks are those which have been taught in the academic programs and/or orientation, and where the individual has demonstrated competence to a designated RN. The functions are those limited by law to unlicensed personnel. Additional duties and responsibilities may be assigned in accordance with the state’s Nurse Practice Act. Start dates for this cohorts are June 30th and July 28th.
Currently enrolled in an accredited Nursing Program and have successfully completed Fundamentals of Nursing. Successful experience in clinical areas as described in instructor references to perform the functions which are within this job description. Able to adapt to unpredictable situations within the patient care setting and deal with stress caused by the care of patients.
License or certification: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
