Job Description

Job Summary: Assesses, designs, implements, presents, and evaluates health education programs and services. This includes coordinating and planning trainings or other educational encounters, ensuring educational and training resources are maintained and updated, making updates to educational materials and courses, and presenting data from classes and programs. Roles in this subfunction also assess and understand the individual needs of trainees, both from a classroom perspective and a broader population perspective. Essential Responsibilities: + Provides developmental opportunities for others; builds collaborative, cross-functional relationships. Solicits and acts on performance feedback; works closely with employees to set goals and provide open feedback and coaching to drive performance improvement. Pursues professional growth; develops and provides training and development to talent for growth opportunities; supports execution of performance management guidelines and expectations. Leads, adapts, implements, and stays up to date with organizational change, challenges, feedback, best practices, processes, and industry trends. Fosters open dialogue amongst team members, engages, motivates, and promotes collaboration within and across teams. Delegates tasks and decisions as appropriate; provides appropriate support, guidance, and scope; encourages development and consideration of options in decision making. + Manages designated work unit or team by translating business plans into tactical action items; oversees the completion of work assignments and identifies opportunities for improvement; ensures all policies and procedures are followed. Aligns team efforts; builds accountability for and measuring progress in achieving results; determines and ensures processes and methodologies are implemented; resolves escalated issues as appropriate; sets standards and measures progress. Fosters the development of work plans to meet business priorities and deadlines; obtains and distributes resources. Removes obstacles that impact performance; identifies and addresses improvement opportunities; guides performance and develops contingency plans accordingly; influences teams to execute in alignment with operational objectives. + Oversees the assessment of member needs by: securing and providing resources and removing barriers to assist with the identification of individual needs, interests, abilities, and a variety of learning styles; building and maintaining teams to adjust courses and training programs to meet the needs of class participants, to create an inclusive environment which exceeds the needs of diverse groups; and building and maintaining teams that are equipped to serve members in finding additional health education services, when appropriate. + Oversees the collection, analysis, and reporting on course data by: managing the design and implementation of studies and surveys to ensure reliable data is collected to evaluate program outcomes; providing guidance on the appropriate software applications to analyze data and analytic techniques to be used; and presenting data and findings from training programs managed to keep relevant parties informed about course progress and initiatives, including department management team and leadership, other managers, senior managers, and directors. + Oversees the delivery of education and training by: ensuring educators are using evidence-based education techniques and teaching methods consistently across classes and programs; ensuring courses across a department are providing members with consistent, high-quality content and courses comply with all regulatory requirements/agencies; empowering educators, supervisors, and all staff to create a welcoming atmosphere in a classroom setting conducive to member learning; and identifying new resources needed to translate evidence-based concepts into simple and understandable information for members + Oversees the design and update of training by: providing resources and advice to assist with the design of interactive activities, assignments, and testing appropriate for course goals and learning outcomes; ensuring the entire team is staffed and equipped to develop high-quality, culturally responsive multi-media health education materials; and monitoring and evaluating education and training programs, recommending changes ensuring the team is equipped to make changes, and creating a strategic plan to implement those changes. + Manages maintenance and updates to educational resources by: leading initiatives to identify outdated information and updating multimedia health information resources; providing direction and vision for the maintenance of a database for educational resources and materials; and ensuring new resources and materials are added to the database and old resources removed in an efficient and timely manner, implementing and reviewing across departments, with standard routine processes. Minimum Qualifications: + Minimum three (3) years of experience in health program development and management or a directly related field. + Minimum three (3) years of experience in a leadership role with or without direct reports. + Minimum two (2) years of professional experience in healthcare involving clinical workflow/operations or clinical systems support. + Minimum two (2) years of experience in healthcare environment or similar environment. + Bachelors Degree in Public Health, Healthcare Administration, Counseling, Education, Psychology, Nursing, Nutrition or related field AND minimum six (6) years of experience in health-related education or directly related field, OR Minimum nine (9) years of experience in health-related education or a directly related field.
