This remote Clinical Documentation Specialist role requires expertise in reviewing and improving the accuracy and completeness of patient medical records. The specialist will ensure compliance with regulatory guidelines and contribute to the overall quality of clinical documentation.

Location: Anchorage, Alaska, United States,

Responsibilities:

- Review and analyze patient medical records for completeness, accuracy, and compliance with regulatory standards.
- Identify and correct documentation deficiencies.
- Collaborate with clinicians to clarify documentation and ensure appropriate coding.
- Implement strategies to improve documentation practices.
- Maintain accurate records and track progress.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives.
- Stay current with regulatory changes and best practices in clinical documentation.

Required Skills & Certifications:

- Experience in clinical documentation improvement or a related field.
- Strong understanding of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology.
- Knowledge of regulatory guidelines (e.g., HIPAA, ICD, CPT).
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in electronic health record (EHR) systems.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Preferred Skills & Certifications:

- Certified Clinical Documentation Improvement Specialist (CCDIS) certification.
- Experience with specific EHR systems.
- Knowledge of various clinical specialties.
