Job Title: Childcare Director

Location: Little Dreamers Preschool

Reports To: School Owner

Employment Type: Full-Time

Salary: Based on experience and qualifications

Job Summary:

Little Dreamers Preschool is seeking a passionate and experienced Childcare Director to oversee the daily operations of our preschool and early childhood programs. The Director will ensure a nurturing, safe, and developmentally appropriate environment for children while managing staff, curriculum, licensing compliance, and parent communications.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Leadership & Management:
  • Supervise and support teaching staff and caregivers.
  • Foster a positive and collaborative work culture.
  • Hire, train, and evaluate staff performance regularly.
  • Schedule staff shifts and ensure proper coverage at all times.
  • Curriculum & Program Development:
  • Oversee implementation of age-appropriate curriculum aligned with early childhood standards.
  • Evaluate and enhance learning experiences and educational activities.
  • Organize and lead staff meetings, training sessions, and professional development.
  • Compliance & Licensing:
  • Ensure the center meets or exceeds all state and local childcare licensing requirements.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation related to health, safety, attendance, and staff credentials.
  • Prepare for and manage inspections and audits.
  • Parent & Community Relations:
  • Build strong relationships with families through regular communication and events.
  • Address parent concerns with empathy, transparency, and professionalism.
  • Promote enrollment through tours, open houses, and marketing initiatives.
  • Financial & Administrative Duties:
  • Assist in budgeting, purchasing, and resource allocation.
  • Monitor tuition payments and support billing processes as needed.
  • Ensure the facility and supplies are clean, safe, and well-maintained.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 3–5 years of experience in early childhood education, with at least 2 years in a leadership or administrative role.
  • Knowledge of state childcare regulations and early learning standards.
  • CPR/First Aid Certification (or willingness to obtain).
  • Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Passion for working with young children and creating a nurturing environment.

Preferred Skills:

  • Familiarity with early childhood assessment tools and learning management systems.
  • Experience with budgeting, staff supervision, and curriculum planning.
  • Bilingual abilities (English/Spanish) a plus.

Working Conditions:

  • Must be able to lift 40 pounds.
  • Requires standing, walking, and active engagement throughout the day.
  • Occasional evening or weekend events.
