Role Overview: As an Art Director on the Creative Team, you’ll craft authentic and innovative marketing stories that showcase our products and engage consumers in exciting ways. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of the lifestyle footwear/apparel space and a keen eye for design, with the ability to translate that expertise into compelling visual stories. In this role you will collaborate closely with the Creative Director, designers and other stakeholders to develop and execute creative concepts that align with our brand vision and elevate our presence in the marketplace. This position offers the opportunity to embrace REEF's culture, showcase your creativity globally, and collaborate with internal and external teams to push boundaries.
This is a full-time, exempt position. Employees are required to work a hybrid schedule. (3) Days in office at our HQ in Carlsbad, and (2) Days Remote. Responsibilities: - Creative Concept Development: Work closely with the Creative Director and creative team to develop innovative and visually compelling concepts and photoshoots for various projects, including integrated campaigns, branding, digital content, and more.
- Design Oversight: Collaborate with a team of designers, providing guidance and feedback to ensure the highest quality of work. Review and approve design materials before final delivery.
- Cross-Departmental Collaboration: Collaborate with the marketing, product, and Comms, teams to ensure creative deliverables meet the needs of various departments and align with broader business objectives.
- Team/Stakeholder Engagement: Engage with internal stakeholders or clients to present concepts, gather feedback, and make necessary adjustments to meet project goals.
Qualifications: - Highly creative with strong conceptual and visual execution skills.
- Project Management: Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present ideas clearly and effectively to stakeholders at all levels.
- A collaborative team player who can build consensus and drive initiatives to completion.
- Passionate self-starter who thrives in a fast-paced, start-up environment.
- Knowledge of fashion and retail, with a strong grasp of digital channel capabilities.
- Technical Skills: Advanced proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, etc.), Figma, PowerPoint, etc. Strong understanding of typography, color theory, and composition.
Education/Experience :
- 9+ years of related professional experience.
- Bachelor’s degree in art or equivalent related experience.
- Experience working in creative environments, including in-house or agency experience.
Additional Requirements: - Flexibility to work late evenings or early mornings when needed.
- Ability to travel up to 20% for creative inspiration and market research at core sports events.

Pay Transparency: REEF Lifestyle LLC complies with all applicable state and local laws regarding pay transparency.
For positions located in California, the salary for this role is $120k - $150k. Please note that final compensation will be determined based on factors such as the candidate's qualifications and experience. Additional benefits and compensation details will be shared during the offer process.
